Trying out this blog thing...

I always said that I'd never blog...I figure I'll try it out. If nothing else, I can post pictures of my adorable daughter on here for anyone to see. Makenzie is now a month old, and we are having a lot of fun with her! I can't believe how quickly time flies!! Here are some pictures to start off my blog with.

Details of Makenzie's birth: Her full name is Makenzie Nicole Pearce, and she was born on March 7th, 2009 at 6:04 PM. She weighed 6 pounds & 9 oz at birth. I was in labor for a total of about 7 hours.

Full story- if you want to know it: I had gotten up early and made breakfast for so
me of our friends that were in town from North Carolina. After breakfast, I got a shower, and was doing my make-up. As soon as I was totally ready, my water broke. Plans to go to my own baby shower were changed. We headed to the hospital instead. We arrived at the hospital around 11:15. When I got there- the nurse had to verify that my water had broken in order to keep me there. So, after that, Tyler called family and they all started to arrive. My sister, Laurie, & Sister in Law, Alanna, had to wait to come to the hospital because they were still throwing my baby shower. They got done at 4, and arrived at the hospital at about 4:30, I started pushing right around the time they arrived. Laurie was grateful that I waited for her because she had requested to be in the room for Makenzie's arrival. We stalled the nurse as long as we could- but timing worked out ok anyway. I pushed for under an hour, and then my little girl arrived! The doctor told me not to tell anyone how easy my labor/delivery were because they'd hate me...lol. Honestly though, it could not have gone more smoothly. We stayed in the hospital for 2 days, and then went home on Monday, March 9th. Unfortunately, that day, we were told that Makenzie had Jaundice and had to undergo phototherapy- so we ended up having IHC Homecare deliver what they call a Bilibed (UV bed) to our house. She had to be on it as much as possible for the first 5 days. She had to get her blood drawn every morning to see where her Biliruben levels were. That was unpleasant, but we made it though. She is now very happy and healthy. Makenzie still thinks night time is when she's supposed to have her eyes open though- making this mama pretty sleep-deprived. She's a good baby though. That's all for this time. You can't expect this long of a blog from me again...but you can expect plenty more pictures.
